Mabels / Using the service
Terms of service
What to expect from Mabels and how to use it responsibly.
Draft prepared September 21, 2026
The Mabels service
Mabels helps you organize a separate passport for each pet, keep documents and care instructions, prepare drafts, and share selected information with people caring for that pet. These proposed terms cover account holders and people who use shared passports.
A Mabels passport is not an official animal passport, vaccination certificate, travel document, insurance determination or veterinary record certification. Check official requirements with the appropriate authority or professional.
Mabels is owned and operated by Dual Ducks LLC, based in Georgia, United States. The business mailing address, supported countries and account age requirement must be confirmed before these terms take effect. Contact: help@dualducks.com.
Your account
Use an email address you control and keep account information accurate. Keep your password and verification codes private, sign out of shared devices, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must have authority to create and maintain a passport for the pet and to provide the information you add. Do not create an account using another person’s identity or try to access another owner’s private records.
The final terms will specify who may hold an account. This draft does not introduce an age-verification process or change existing registration rules.
Your records and files
You retain the rights you have in your uploaded content. To provide the features you use, you give Mabels permission to host, store, copy, display and process that content, and to transmit it to providers or recipients as described in the Privacy policy and your sharing choices.
This permission is limited to providing the service and carrying out applicable retention or legal obligations. It does not transfer ownership of your records to Mabels. Provider data-use terms, including unresolved AI training permissions, are described in the Privacy policy’s AI section.
Check that you have permission or another appropriate basis to provide information about people. Keep records accurate and current. Upload only relevant information; remove unrelated personal details before sharing an original.
Care information and AI drafts
Mabels is not a veterinarian, an emergency response service or a substitute for professional care. Contact your veterinarian or preferred emergency animal hospital when care is needed. Do not delay treatment while using the site.
AI extraction and vet summaries are optional and can omit, misread or invent details. Compare suggestions with the original records, correct errors and consult a veterinarian about medical decisions. Do not change medication or treatment based only on an AI draft.
You decide what to save or send. Choosing Save visit preparation stores a summary snapshot and your questions for later editing. Later changes to health records do not update that snapshot. Generating, saving or exporting a summary does not send it to a vet or establish a veterinarian-client relationship.
Care tasks use instructions and dates supplied by the owner. A completion report records what someone reported through an authorized invitation; it does not verify the person’s identity or prove that care was carried out. Owners and caregivers should confirm unclear instructions directly.
Shared links and downloaded copies
Review the selected fields, records and files before activating or emailing a link. Anyone who obtains that active link can view what it includes, and an original document is shared in full. Share recipients are responsible for using information only for an authorized purpose and for protecting their copies.
Shared-passport links are read-only. A separate care invitation grants limited permission to report completion or undo a report for selected tasks and dates. Reports, notes and corrections remain in the activity history. Protect invitation links as carefully as passport links.
Links can expire or be revoked. Those controls do not recall screenshots, downloads, printed pages or exported PDFs. Mabels cannot guarantee what a recipient does after obtaining a copy. A recipient should check with the owner if information is unclear or appears out of date.
Using Mabels responsibly
Do not use Mabels to upload unlawful material, infringe other people’s rights, impersonate someone, harass others, distribute malicious files, bypass access controls, collect other people’s records without permission, or interfere with the service.
Do not use shared links as a way to publish unrelated personal information or distribute bulk messages. Report a suspected security problem privately to help@dualducks.com; do not access or disclose other people’s information to demonstrate it.
Availability and changes
Features may be interrupted by maintenance, provider outages or errors. Keep independent copies of important documents and emergency contact details. Mabels does not promise continuous availability or that every record or AI output is complete or correct.
Features may change. A material reduction affecting stored information should be accompanied by reasonable notice and an opportunity to export it where feasible. If paid features are offered, their price, billing and cancellation terms must be provided before a purchase; this draft does not create a subscription or authorize a charge.
Closing an account or restricting access
You can delete your account in Settings. Download any originals and export any records you need beforehand. Deletion and retained-copy limitations are explained in the Privacy policy.
Access may need to be restricted for a security issue, unlawful activity, serious misuse or a legal requirement. Where feasible and lawful, Mabels will explain the restriction and provide a way to contact us about it. Security or legal circumstances may require immediate action.
Closing an account does not remove copies previously downloaded by recipients or erase records that remain with providers under their retention rules.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. This includes mandatory consumer and data protection rights. Responsibility for a loss depends on the circumstances and applicable law.
These draft terms do not add mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, a fixed damages cap or a chosen court. Any applicable governing-law provision must be reviewed after the intended markets are confirmed.
If one provision cannot be enforced, that does not by itself invalidate the remaining provisions.
Updates and questions
The finalized terms will identify their effective date. Changes will be posted here, with additional notice or acceptance where required. A change will not remove rights you already have under mandatory law.
